It’s a week before the US Open and Justine has not played well enough to get into the main draw, her only hope- a wildcard. Tommy barely keeps his composure, and puts his feelings about the Ernesto-Justine fiasco aside in order to focus on preparing Justine for the US Open. The family all gathers around the tv for the announcement of the draw. Justine is given a wildcard. Her opponent will be Jupiter Stevens in the first round.
Tommy confronts Trace about the wildcard. Tommy knows Justine should not have gotten one. If Trace rigged the system, this is a red line for Tommy, given their history. Trace tells Tommy to not inquire further, otherwise information about the US Open final may leak and destroy his reputation and any future opportunities in the sport. The threat hits hard, so Tommy brings up the school, admitting Gloria wanted Trace out and saw Tommy as the person to do it. Trace reveals to Tommy that he’s being used by Gloria, she wanted Trace off the school because she suspected him of infidelity with a board member, not because she thought Tommy would be a better leader. Double punch to the gut.
Ernesto is released from the hospital. Tommy’s sister wants Ernesto back at home, she doesn't trust Tommy with his care. This news is devastating to Tommy. Ernesto rejects the call home and stays with Tommy.
On Twitter, Justine blames Ernesto for the accident to cover her ass from losing endorsements. Ernesto sees her true colors.
Olivia, while on smoke breaks from the coffee shop, works to establish a connection at the Wilderhorne estate. Is she willing to do something unethical to advance the story?
