Young Tommy Nolasco dreamed of muscles straining and bulging under the pressure of heat and energy. Looking through the fence, he watched toned, viscerally stunning athletes performing at the top of their game. But how to get on the other side of the fence?

The tennis came easily to Tommy. But the money didn’t. In stepped white savior, Trace Wilderhorne. But Trace’s influence at the pinnacle of Tommy’s career – the US Open finals – turned his dream into his darkest moment: an accusation of cheating. Tommy’s career was never the same.

Fast forward to where our story begins: Tommy, retired from the professional tennis circuit, sends a 127mph serve into the groin of his opponent during a charity tennis event… and things only get progressively worse from there.

Suddenly, Trace enters Tommy’s life once again with an offer to coach his daughter, Justine Wilderhorne. Justine, a WTA ranked player, is looking to take the #1 spot from Jupiter Stevens, the only dominant black athlete in the sport. Tommy reluctantly agrees. But when Tommy discovers he’ll be coaching an imposter taking the place of an injured Justine, the clashes of family, wealth and power come rushing back to haunt him.

(21) A Latino kid with too many tattoos. The moral center of the series. A foreigner in the tennis world; the layman’s (aka the audience) perspective on the sport.

TRACE

Trace Wilderhorne: (60’s) An American Richard Branson. He sees himself as a father to Tommy, and believes he has always looked out for Tommy’s best interest.

GLORIA

Gloria Wilderhorne: (50’s) A behind-the-scenes puppet master. Gloria is the engine behind bringing Tommy in to coach Justine.

JUSTINE

Justine Wilderhorne: (20) The second half of the twins. Now injured and unable to play, she’s determined to recover and take her rightful place on the WTA tour.

JUPITER

Jupiter Stevens: (20’s) African-American tennis player; bigger, stronger and seemingly more talented than Justine; she is the best in the world.
